Februar y/March 202 2 I MAGAZINE AT PAGE 1 Our new Ariadne’s thread Dear readers, Here we are, after months of discussion and work, presenting the new design of our magazine. Today more than ever, reading is an oxymoron, a pleasant sacrifice. An almost paradoxical statement in the age of social media, as a sea of news overwhelms us as soon as we unlock the phone. And yet, our feeling is that it all flows, like something in a flooded riverbed. The pleasure of reading seems to come at the sacrifice of intercepting topics of real interest. There is a risk of getting lost in a labyrinth of content, so the new graph- ics of Qualitaly Magazine wants to be an Ariadne’s thread. A real reading tool. In the same way as we used coloured pencils and highlighters in schoolbooks, notes and diaries. A graphic that helps to intercept the theme. Thus, the news is immediately apparent in the summary. Whether it is topical or featured or is presented in dif- ferent colours. Texts emerge from the page thanks to a coloured quote or blurb. The contents are inspired by the environ- ment that surrounds us, telling stories and experiences of those who are protago- nists. We are inspired by the agri-food chain, an infinite world! We listen to our readers and give you their stories back. Often our articles are simply born out of a desire to share the joys of our palates or the memories that come to mind through food. Far from wanting to be a compendi- um on the subject, we will be profession- ally satisfied to have provided you with some ideas from which to begin a journey of in-depth study. We are always on the lookout for stories we have experienced, for feelings we can express, for real news. So dear reader, if you have something to share, we will be happy to do so. By Lorenzo Morelli AT PAGE 3 Cooperative and Cooperation Let’s dispel any doubts, the shape of our company is not accidental: the first C stands for Cooperative. We are all aware of what is happening. Compared to December 2020, i.e. a little less than two years ago, the cost of PET to produce bottles has increased by 84%, glass has become difficult to source and costs have risen significantly. Cellulose to produce paper and cardboard has risen by between 60% and 70%. In addition, energy costs have skyrocketed. To complete the “perfect storm”, agricultural raw materials have seen average increases of 40%. Many products are unavailable. What happens in one corner of the world acts as a tuning fork. Globalisation is not just an everyday word, it is an economic and social reality. In this context, being an isolated entrepreneur is like circumnavigat- ing the globe in a nutshell. We therefore emphasise the C that has always characterised us. Cooperative as a transfer of knowledge and skills that feeds a virtuous circuit of investment, devel- opment and innovation. Educating and training our members and staff, spreading knowledge through cooperation is our nature. Think of the scientific world. The constant exchange of information and the support of teamwork make it possible to achieve results that would be unattainable for the individual. This is what we do every day. Cooperative!
